What's a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like for First-Time Visitors? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. It was everyone's first time in Kyoto. I took them to Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera (including the Yasaka Pagoda and Koshin-do), Sanjusangen-do, and Chishaku-in.

They had also requested a visit to the bamboo grove in Arashiyama, but since it was not possible time-wise, I took them to the bamboo path at Fushimi Inari instead.

Since there were younger members in the group, I made sure to include a coffee break and ice cream break near the Yasaka Pagoda.

Today was a holiday, and the approach to Kiyomizu-dera in particular was so crowded that it was almost impossible to move.

Everyone seemed to have their own favorite spots, but overall Sanjusangen-do and Kiyomizu-dera were the most popular.
