Title: What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like for First-Time Visitors? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were part of a group visiting Japan for the first time, arriving from North America the previous day. After spending time in Tokyo, they planned to travel to Hakone, Kanazawa, Matsumoto, Nara, Kyoto, Osaka, and Asuka, before returning to Tokyo for a few more nights and then heading home. Based on our email exchanges beforehand, we finalized today's itinerary together.

One of the guests had prepared thoroughly for this trip, opening a thick guidebook each time we confirmed the next destination and carefully checking the details. Because of this, I took great care not to share any information that differed from what was written in the guidebook.

Another guest, who was quiet at first, gradually opened up as they responded to my rapid-fire quizzes about Japanese culture and my playful puns. By the time we reached the sushi restaurant, this guest was chatting with the sushi chef using freshly learned Japanese words, even exchanging high-fives. It was memorable to see this guest reach over to try some of the chu-toro that had been ordered, and then, while checking a Japanese phrasebook from the thick guidebook, exclaim "Oishii!" with a big smile.
