What's a Private Tokyo Tour Like for Repeat Visitors? A Licensed Guide's Report on Tsukiji, Asakusa, and Ginza
The guests were from the Middle East. Having a professional background that involved frequent business connections with Japan, they had visited Japan several times before. When they tried to purchase admission tickets at the Tokyo National Museum, they discovered they qualified for free admission based on their age. Their posture was so good that it was hard to imagine their age. However, since one of the guests seemed to have back pain, I deliberately kept the walking pace quite slow and minimized the walking distance as much as possible. They were also looking for a particular pain-relief patch purchased overseas (the same product name, but containing a local anesthetic ingredient that is not permitted in over-the-counter medicines in Japan). We could not find it at a large pharmacy right outside the Nitenmon Gate of Sensoji Temple, so we visited several large pharmacies with dispensing counters around Ueno Station. After consulting with a pharmacist, it turned out that the ingredient cannot be purchased without a prescription in Japan. I recommended an equivalent product from another manufacturer, but they wished to keep using their usual product, so the matter was resolved by having a family member abroad purchase it for them.
At the first destination, Tsukiji, they seemed overwhelmed. After strolling through the crowded streets for about 10 minutes, they were satisfied. They wished to purchase a custom-made souvenir — a small wooden piece with a strap engraved with their names in Japanese (based on pronunciation) — but gave up on it since it would take about 45 minutes to complete. Next, at Asakusa, they did not wish to draw omikuji fortunes or climb the stairs to view the interior of the main hall, but they took many commemorative photos together. They also experienced the purification fountain, and at the incense burner right next to it, when I explained "the smoke here is believed to heal ailing parts of the body," one of the guests earnestly wafted the smoke toward themselves and the other guest. At Asakusa Shrine, they were able to worship without climbing any stairs. Experiencing a shrine visit for the first time, the guests were very pleased. At Kappabashi, they seemed to be looking for high-quality lacquerware but could not find items of the level they wanted. I explained that such items are more likely to be sold at long-established department stores. Since they would also spend about four days in Kyoto after Tokyo, they decided to look forward to future opportunities there.
Finally, since they planned to leisurely enjoy shopping in Ginza on their own before heading to their hotel, we said goodbye a bit early in front of the Ginza UNIQLO.
Also, since the guests took many commemorative photos together, I helped with taking photos on their smartphone.

Best Post cruise tour ever
It was a GREAT TOUR with Noripy! With a family of many different ages and walking levels this was fantastic. We were picked up from our cruise in Yokohama and dropped off at Haneda airport. We had about 10 hours before our flight and it went flawlessly.

Noripy was excellent! She guided us through several parts of the city: Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station, Tokyo Tower, Sangedatsumon, Zojo-ji, Meiji Jingu, and Golden Gai. A great way to see many Tokyo sites and get acquainted with the city on your first day!

Lovely experience. My guide was an absolutely adorable lady who managed to fit all the iconic Tokyo spots into my 6-hour tour without anything feeling rushed. She was knowledgeable, organised, and genuinely kind. Toward the end she even helped me with some shopping, which I really appreciated. A wonderful introduction to Tokyo and a guide I’d happily recommend….

Noripy gave a 5/5 tour! She provided useful instruction for public transport use, fascinating historical information, spiritual customs and current cultural practices- All with an infectious smile and never ending positive energy. Noripy’s tour allowed us to made the most of the rest of our time in Tokyo. I feel like we did 5 days of sightseeing in 6 hrs! But Noripy made sure to always check if we wanted a break. Our tour was customized for my 2 teenage kids and I, and if we saw or thought of something along the way that interested us, Noripy accommodated! I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo. And you will be extra lucky to get Noripy for your guide!
