Tour Itinerary

  • 10:30 Meet at Tobu Nikko Station ➡ 10:50 Sightseeing at Shinkyo Bridge ➡ 11:20 Sightseeing at Rinnoji Temple Sanbutsudo ➡ 12:05 Sightseeing at Toshogu Shrine ➡ 13:50 Sightseeing at Rinnoji Temple Taiyuin ➡ 14:40 Shopping at souvenir shops (Yoshimiya and souvenir shops near Shinkyo Bridge) ➡ 15:30 Break at a dango shop ➡ 16:00 Pick up luggage at Tobu Nikko Station ➡ 16:30 Disband at the hotel (Nikko Hoshi no Yado)

The guests lost their JR Pass, which meant they could not catch the train they had planned to take, so the tour started about one hour late. I suggested that we have lunch early since restaurants tend to get crowded, but the guests requested that we skip lunch in order to make up for the lost hour, and I accommodated their wish. However, since going without lunch left them looking tired toward the end, we took about 30 minutes at the end to enjoy something sweet together. I was glad to see them recover their energy. The guests very much enjoyed shopping and seemed to have already decided what they wanted to buy, such as lacquered chopsticks and folk craft items, which made them very easy to guide. It was raining and cold, so it may have been a little tough at times, but they were very much looking forward to the kaiseki cuisine at their hotel.

I am more than happy to take you to attractive tourism resources scattered in Nikko. I will prepare for your trip enough to satisfy your requests and provide you with the memorable tour. When I was a company employee, I lived abroad for 5 years in Los Angeles, 11 and a half years in Washington D.C. and 2 and half years in Brussels. Despite 19 year long stay abroad, I remain charmed by Japanese things, such as culture, custom, spirit, martial art etc. I am glad if I can be of help you understand Japan as well as Nikko through my guide. I am interested in Japanese martial arts: I own the third grade in Japanese archery, known as Kyudo and I have passed a certification examination (1st grade) for Sumo wrestling conducted by the Japanese Sumo Promoting Association.
