What Can You See on a Private Tokyo Tour of the East Gardens and Asakusa? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visitors from North America. They were planning to travel in Japan for four weeks, but their trip was shortened to two weeks, and they plan to visit Japan again in the future. After this trip, they were going to live in Europe. Since they were interested in history, I recommended the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. They admired the stone walls of Edo Castle, the guardhouses, and the Fujimi Yagura turret as they explored the grounds. Afterward, we moved to Asakusa, where they seemed to really enjoy the atmosphere. We visited Nakamise, Hozomon Gate, and the five-story pagoda, and had fun drawing omikuji fortunes. We also walked along Hoppy Street and Denboin Street, where they enjoyed the many shops and the lively atmosphere. For lunch, we ate at Daikokuya, a long-established tempura restaurant, and they said it was very delicious. After that, they decided to explore Asakusa on their own, so we ended the tour in Asakusa. The weather was fine, and I believe they had an enjoyable time.
