What Is a Private Miyajima Tour from Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
Today's guests were a group visiting from Europe. The weather was pleasantly clear and sunny. Although reaching Miyajima by public transport would take a little over two hours each way, at the guests' request we used a direct high-speed boat from the hotel. Thanks to this, the guests were able to fully enjoy Miyajima, including the Great Torii Gate, a stroll along the corridors of Itsukushima Shrine, Daisho-in Temple, and shopping in the shopping street. They were especially delighted with Daisho-in Temple.

Hello, my name is Sei, a tour guide of Hiroshima, aged 77, quite an old man. But don’t worry, I can compete with young men in walking.
Since the beginning of this year, I have given tours to 588 tourists from overseas, I enjoy giving the tour at the two world cultural heritage sites in Hiroshima, the Miyajima Island with the magnificent shrine built over the sea, and the Atomic Bomb Dome in the Peace Memorial Park.
Giving the tour at the Peace Park is more meaningful to me than other sites. The Peace Park is a place of thought-provoking. There, you will further strengthen your awareness of peace.
Some day in the near future, I will be accompanying you in Hiroshima as your tour guide.

A Great Day!
We had a great day with Sei, our guide. He was friendly, very knowledgable and organised.
He took us around Hiroshima Memorial Park and then to the museum where he had arranged for a private viewing of a short film about Hiroshima. Afterwards, we visited Miyajima Island. Again, Sei was very knowledgable. He had checked the tides to show the ‘floating’ Torri Gate.
We did a fair bit of travelling, bus, tram, train and Ferry, but the day went smoothly. We didn’t feel rushed. Everything flowed.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Sei and would definitely recommend it.

We had Sei as our private tour guide for the day. He was fabulous. He was very engaging and always ensured that we were with him. He gathered us in many times and provided a brief history or overview of what we were looking at/experiencing. Sei was very knowledgeable and provided very interesting facts. I would highly recommend this tour and Sei as your tour guide.

Terrific tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima
Sei was a terrific guide for our 8 hour tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He clearly enjoyed showing us around his hometown. He checked the tide tables to make sure that we were able to see the floating torii gate at Miyajima close to high tide (if you go at low tide, the torii gate will be completely on the same). He took us to a very small local restaurant. We sat a counter that had about 8 seats in the whole restaurant and watched the owner prepare our meal on the hot skillet in front of us. Loved the true local experience! He gave us a choice of restaurants for lunch. Had delicious Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki (highly recommend this dish!). The second part of our day was at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and surrounding sights. Sei was very good at explaining the background of these sights. Overall a full day. Would definitely recommend Sei for your tour guide!

We toured with Sei for 4 hours in Hiroshima. We were a family of 6 adults. He was excellent – full of energy, passion and information about the city, its tragic past and its hopeful future. Very knowledgeable and kept us at a good and appropriate pace. We particularly liked that he gave us some time to roam at the gardens and museum at our own pace. English skills are strong. Strong recommendation for him!
