What Is a Private Tokyo Tour Like for Guests Using Walkers? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. Some of the group used walkers, so we avoided stairs and moved around using elevators and escalators throughout the tour. First, at Tokyo Station, they admired the beautiful Marunouchi Building and took photos. They also said the Imperial Palace Outer Garden and Nijubashi Bridge were wonderful. At the group's request, we visited Koishikawa Korakuen Garden. They left the walkers at the entrance and were able to walk across the stepping stones and enjoy the scenery. After that, we toured Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise Shopping Street. Since they wished to have eel for lunch, we enjoyed unagi at a restaurant. As one of the group avoided gluten, the eel was prepared as shirayaki (grilled without sauce). The dish was especially well received and enjoyed. Afterward, we went to the Tokyo Skytree. Since the observation deck admission was expensive, we did not go up, but enjoyed the view from the 5th floor and browsed the shops. We then returned to the Hotel. The weather was fine, and I believe the guests had an enjoyable time.

Fumiko is a great tour guide – informative, friendly and very well prepared.
Fumiko was a great tour guide given she was very knowledgeable about the key tourist sites that we visited and history of Japan. Fumiko was a great communicator who reached out very early to design our six-hour tour of Tokyo. Unfortunately we spent a lot of time on the underground to get to the sites that we wanted to visit. My advice is to test with Fumiko early the likely time that you will spend on transport over the course of the day so you do not spend unnecessary time on public transport. Probably do ot need a tour guide to go to the markets. Highly recommend Fumiko.
