- 9:00-9:45 Travel (City Bus; Kawaramachi Shichijo → Gojozaka)
- 9:45-11:15 Visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple (including Sannenzaka, Ninenzaka, Yasaka Pagoda, Koshin-do)
- 11:15-11:40 Travel (City Bus; Kiyomizu-michi → Higashiyama Shichijo)
- 11:40-12:25 Visit Sanjusangen-do Temple
- 12:35-13:25 Lunch (Sato; near Sanjusangen-do)
- 13:25-14:05 Travel (Keihan Train; Keihan Shichijo → Keihan Sanjo, Subway; Sanjo Keihan → Nijojo-mae)
- 14:05-15:25 Visit Nijo Castle
- 15:25-16:05 Travel (Subway; Nijojo-mae → Sanjo Keihan, Keihan Train; Keihan Sanjo → Fushimi Inari)
- 16:05-17:00 Visit Fushimi Inari
- 17:00 Tour End After the tour, we escorted the guests to Keihan Shichijo Station near their hotel and said goodbye.

The guests were an older group visiting from Europe. They have traveled all over the world, but this was their first time in Japan. The weather was fine and some cherry blossoms still remained, making it a perfect day for sightseeing. On this long 8-hour tour, I took them to Kiyomizu-dera, Sanjusangendo, Nijo Castle, and Fushimi Inari. During the tour, I arranged some time for light shopping as well as a coffee break for the group. One of the guests said the wall paintings at Nijo Castle were their favorite. Another was overwhelmed by the 1,001 statues of Kannon at Sanjusangendo.

Our Kyoto guided tour (Aioi Michiharu) was a great way to see some of the city’s most famous sights. The itinerary was well organized, starting with a convenient hotel pickup before visiting Fushimi Inari Taisha. Walking through the thousands of red torii gates was a memorable experience, and our guide shared interesting background about the shrine that added helpful context.
We then explored the Kiyomizu area, including Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Yasaka Pagoda, and Yasaka Koshindo Temple. The route offered a nice mix of historic landmarks, traditional streets, and scenic viewpoints. There was enough time at each stop to take photos and enjoy the surroundings without feeling rushed.
What really made this tour special was our guide’s knowledge, friendliness, and enthusiasm. He provided interesting cultural insights, recommended local foods and hidden photo spots, and made sure everyone in the group was comfortable throughout the day.

Michi our guide was excellent! Great communication before the tour and laid out an entire day for us. Was very accommodating and understood when the heat got to us and needed to take a break. He was very knowledgeable and gave us great pieces of information about the beautiful city of Kyoto. Would highly recommend the tour and Michi!!

Michi was an excellent tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about the history of all the sites we visited, was able to answer all of core questions, and knew where to find cold water when we were all thirsty! We really enjoyed our whole 4 hour tour.
