Title: What's a Private Himeji Castle Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests today were a returning group visiting Japan from North America. Since the guests arrived at Himeji Station earlier than planned, we started the tour ahead of schedule. Today, after meeting at Himeji Station, we visited the Castle View, Himeji Castle, Kokoen Garden, and Nadagiku Sake Brewery, then returned to Himeji Station to conclude the tour.
The weather was fine, and the cherry blossoms were about 70 percent in bloom and beautiful, providing excellent conditions for sightseeing, so Himeji Castle was very crowded. Because of this, there was some waiting time inside the main keep. A large tour bus had also arrived at Nadagiku Sake Brewery, so the tasting corner was crowded. At the end of the tour, when I asked the guests for their impressions, they said it had been "perfect."

Our delightful guide, Norio, was knowledgeable and a master at train negotiation! A highlight of the tour was the Herb Garden and Ropeway visit. The Sake Brewery and Museum was interesting with fabulous explanation from Norio combined with outstanding exhibits and tastings! He then left us to wander at our leisure in Chinatown.

We learnt lots about Himeji castle and it was very interesting. The gardens were beautiful and it was great to see all the Koi fish. Norio made sure to take us to the best places and even took us to a great local sake place we asked for 🙂
