Can You Do a Private Family-Style Day Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were a group visiting from Europe, who had arrived in Japan two days earlier. After staying in Tokyo for several days, some of the guests planned to fly home from Haneda Airport, while the others intended to travel on to Kanazawa, Kyoto, and Osaka before returning home. In advance emails, the guests asked for recommendations beyond the planned itinerary. Since some of them were interested in vintage shops, I created and sent a map with a suggested route around Shimokitazawa, which they were very pleased with. On the day, an unplanned visit to an Otter Café was added to enjoy time with the otters, so we skipped Sensoji Temple and moved to Ueno Park instead. One of the guests, who enjoyed photography, happily took photos of the cherry blossoms in full bloom and of the group smiling beneath the trees, using a digital camera popular among young people.
