Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Shukkeien Garden and the Atomic Bomb Dome
The bus was delayed in arriving. Even so, the guests were captivated by the beauty of the weeping cherry blossoms, the mimosa, and the peach blossoms at Shukkeien Garden. We wrapped up after about an hour and arrived at the Atomic Bomb Dome. The guests said, "This is why we came to Hiroshima, so please explain it thoroughly." I felt a little nervous, but I explained the path leading to the Pacific War, why the bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, and the true nature of the atomic bomb that was dropped. As I was explaining, although I had not been born yet, questions came up about family members who had been evacuated and their lives after the war. I also spoke about the daily life of an atomic bomb survivor I am close to, the rationing of those days, and the controls imposed by GHQ. The guests listened while nodding. When the guests remarked, "Trump is not popular in Europe," I said, "I try not to talk about political matters. But how can we create a world that values human life?" and we exchanged various opinions. When it was time to say goodbye, I said, "You were lucky the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. It seems it will rain tonight, but you were able to enjoy the blossoms before that," and the guests replied, "It was truly wonderful to see such beautiful cherry blossoms and to hear about Hiroshima in such detail."

Hiroshima Tour with Yoshi
Yoshi was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip. From the very beginning, she went above and beyond—meeting us at the station and making everything feel effortless and perfectly organized.
She is incredibly knowledgeable, especially about Hiroshima’s history. What made the experience even more special is that her perspective comes from someone who was born and raised there. Hearing the stories, details, and context directly from her added a level of depth and authenticity that you simply cannot get otherwise.
Beyond her knowledge, Yoshi is just a beautiful human being—kind, warm, and genuinely caring. Spending the day with her felt like a hug to the heart. She made us feel comfortable, cared for, and fully present in such a meaningful place.
She guided us through every site with perfect timing and intention, making sure we experienced everything without ever feeling rushed.
If you are visiting Hiroshima, I cannot recommend Yoshi enough. Seeing the city through her eyes is something truly unforgettable.
