What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like Before a Japan Cruise? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from Europe. The day after the tour, they were going to enjoy an approximately two-week cruise around Japan departing from the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal. They mentioned that this would likely be their first and last Tokyo tour, but they were remarkably strong walkers. After strolling from the Sakuradamon Gate of the Imperial Palace to the Nijubashi Bridge and the Main Gate, I explained about the Inui Street passage of the Imperial Palace, which had not originally been planned. The guests showed strong interest and expressed a wish to see it, so they experienced a stroll along Inui Street. They took many photos. They mentioned having a large garden at home and were very knowledgeable about plants and trees. After that, we passed through the East Gardens and returned to Tokyo Station, which was the originally planned route. For lunch, as originally requested, we headed to the Tsukiji Market and tried sushi at a sushi restaurant. However, since they could not eat large amounts, they ordered shrimp, tuna, and salmon roe rolls à la carte and enjoyed them. They seemed to find the food very delicious. After lunch, since it was judged that the Tokyo Skytree could not be seen from Asakusa due to the weather, we skipped Asakusa and went to Roppongi. After viewing the National Art Center, I guided them to the boarding platform of the Toei Oedo Subway Line, which returns to the Hotel without any transfers, and we said goodbye. When I told them to please come to Japan again, they said that the jet lag becomes harder as one gets older. The day after the tour, they sent me a thank-you email saying they had not expected to see so much in such a short time, which made it a rewarding tour for me as a guide.

It was a GREAT TOUR with Noripy! With a family of many different ages and walking levels this was fantastic. We were picked up from our cruise in Yokohama and dropped off at Haneda airport. We had about 10 hours before our flight and it went flawlessly.

Noripy was excellent! She guided us through several parts of the city: Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station, Tokyo Tower, Sangedatsumon, Zojo-ji, Meiji Jingu, and Golden Gai. A great way to see many Tokyo sites and get acquainted with the city on your first day!

Lovely experience. My guide was an absolutely adorable lady who managed to fit all the iconic Tokyo spots into my 6-hour tour without anything feeling rushed. She provided useful instruction for public transport use, fascinating historical information, spiritual customs and current cultural practices- All with an infectious smile and never ending positive energy. Noripy’s tour allowed us to made the most of the rest of our time in Tokyo. I feel like we did 5 days of sightseeing in 6 hrs! But Noripy made sure to always check if we wanted a break.
