What's a Private History-Focused Walking Tour in Japan Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests preferred to walk at a relaxed pace, so I trimmed a few parts of the planned content while still keeping almost to the schedule. They had a deep interest in history and asked many questions. I felt it was great that we were able to have plenty of two-way communication. For lunch, they very much enjoyed the wagyu grilled beef, both the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant.
I had held up the [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) welcome board, but since the guests did not know what I looked like, it took a little time for us to meet up. Going forward, I plan to also clearly write the guests' name alongside it to make it easier to find each other.

I am a licensed guide interpreter with two years of working experience. My main area is Fukuoka city and surrounding regions. I’m specialized in the history and cultural exploration.
Fukuoka had developed as a gateway to the rest of Asia in the ancient times and it retains historically valuable structures/monuments throughout the city. Its charms also include activities in the rich nature(the region is surrounded by mountains and the sea)and distinctive food culture such as ramen and Yatai food stalls. I have been living in Fukuoka for 20 years. Among several cities I have lived or stayed in before, Fukuoka is the best place with rich nature, history, exciting urban areas and excellent cuisine.

We had a great tour in Fukuoka with Chaka as our guide. She met us at the port and took
us to the sights we had requested as well as some of her recommendations. She arranged for lunch at an authentic Japanese restaurant where the staff were wearing kimonos. Her English was very good and we did not have trouble understanding her. Thank-you for making our day in Fukuoka informative and memorable.

Great tour of Fukuoka and the historical sites
Chako was very informative about the sites we visited. She met us at the hotel promptly and took us to the sites via the rail system. The rail network is very punctual and was within walking distance from the stations. Chako guided us through the rail stations from site to site with ease. She had a folder with pictures, maps and information about the different sites. We highly recommend her to everyone.
