What's a Private Walking Tour of Kyoto's Higashiyama Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visiting from Europe, and it was a very enjoyable tour. They loved shopping and made many purchases at Nishiki Market. We then skipped Gion and walked to Yasaka Shrine, Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Partly because it was raining, one of the guests seemed quite tired, so we took a coffee break near Kiyomizu-dera and did some sweets shopping on the way back. One of the guests ate a black soft-serve ice cream, and we all laughed at how it was as black as charcoal, making for a fun tour. We took a taxi to Sanjusangen-do Hall around 4:15, but I made the mistake of not realizing it closes at 3:30. Thanks to the guests' easygoing nature, they laughed it off and forgave me. Relieved, we ran slightly over and finished at 4:30. It was a very enjoyable tour.
