Title: What Can You See on a Private Kyoto Day Tour from a Cruise Stop? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visiting from North America as part of a cruise that departed from Oceania, stopped in several countries across Asia, and made Japan its final port of call. As soon as we met, we had a lively conversation about current events and about the cherry blossoms along a river back in their home region. From our talk it turned out that they had spent half a day in Kyoto the previous year, and that some of the destinations planned for this visit were places they had already seen. They also mentioned wanting to shop at the Nintendo store, so I quickly adjusted the itinerary accordingly.

Wherever we went, however, there were huge crowds, and as this was near the end of a long journey, the guests appeared tired. I had planned to visit Nanzen-ji Temple near the hotel, but as the guests preferred to rest at the hotel, I saw them back to the hotel and said goodbye there.
