What Is a Private Day Trip from Tokyo to Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were a group visiting from North America. I learned when we met that they were making a day trip from Tokyo. The meeting point was the lobby of a hotel that the guests had specified, so I waited there for over about an hour and a half. It seemed the Shinkansen they had booked was scheduled to arrive later than the meeting time, and as walking was quite slow, this led to a significant delay. The reason was not clearly explained to me. One of the guests could not walk without a cane, and although Kiyomizu-dera had originally been planned, it appeared to be too difficult, so I suggested Gion, and we sightseed there instead. At Fushimi Inari, that guest chose to wait at the entrance rather than sightsee. We tried to minimize walking as much as possible. At the end, I suggested resting at Gion Tsujiri, and we concluded the tour there. The guests preferred to go at their own pace throughout.
