What's a Private Day Tour of Osaka from a Cruise Ship Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
Today I guided a group who arrived by cruise ship. They had already visited destinations in Asia as well as Tokyo, Nagasaki, Shimizu, Hiroshima, and Kyoto. They were interested in culture and history and listened very attentively to my explanations. Although it was not yet peak season, I was surprised at how crowded both Osaka Castle and Dotonbori were. They enjoyed the okonomiyaki we had for lunch. Afterwards we headed to Sumiyoshi Taisha, which was not too crowded and was very pleasant. It was a rather chilly day, but I believe the guests enjoyed themselves.

We spent half a day with Kaeko Tanigawa taking us to Daitoku-ji and Kinkaku-ji temples and Nijo castle in Kyoto. She is very nice, customer-oriented and knowledgeable about Japanese culture and history.

Kaeko Tanigawa was fantastic at helping us create a tour that worked for our family with two young children. It was a very hot day, but the air conditioned van was perfect. We loved making ramen together, feeding monkeys, and seeing a few top sites of Kyoto.

Kaeko was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and my husband and I had the best time with her during our honeymoon in Kyoto in April!
