What's a Private Walking Tour of Kyoto Like on a Changeable-Weather Day? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests visited Japan from North America. The forecast had called for cloudy skies, and I, like the guests, expected that it would not rain. However, the wind was strong and the weather kept changing. By the time we left Fushimi Inari, a light rain had begun to fall. At Kinkaku-ji, we caught a few glimpses of sunshine. After lunch, we headed to Arashiyama. Following the Bamboo Grove, since we had some time, we visited Okochi Sanso Villa. It started to rain again there, and the guests said they wanted to return to the hotel. However, once we reached the exit of the Bamboo Grove, the weather recovered again, and the guests said they wanted to rest a little in Arashiyama before heading back, so they wished to end the tour there. It seemed they wanted to eat some mochi at a shop. It was a tour thoroughly swayed by the weather. Still, I was a little pleased when the guests mentioned along the way that although it was their first walking tour, they found it enjoyable. The photo was taken at Kinkaku-ji.
