What Is a Private Nagasaki Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were a group visiting from North America, and everyone seemed to enjoy the tour. At the Atomic Bomb Museum, they viewed the exhibits with great interest. At the Hypocenter Park, they attentively observed the hypocenter monument and the remains of Urakami Cathedral. At Peace Park, they listened with interest to the meaning of the Peace Statue. They also listened with interest to the history of Urakami Cathedral, which can be seen from Peace Park. At Suwa Shrine, they eagerly listened to the history of the shrine and the differences between Shinto and Buddhism. At Meganebashi (the Spectacles Bridge), they delightedly looked at the bridge reflected on the surface of the water. At Dejima, they listened attentively to the background of Dejima's construction and its trade with Portugal and the Netherlands. At Glover Garden, they listened with interest to the role Glover played in Japan's modernization. At the end of the tour, the guests told me it was the best tour they had ever taken.
