Title: What Is a Private Day Tour of Tokyo Like from Yokohama? A Licensed Guide's Report
I guided a retired group visiting Japan. After traveling through other parts of Asia, the guests had arrived in Yokohama the day before and were scheduled to return home from Narita the following day. After a pickup at the Hotel in Yokohama, we went to Odaiba, Nezu, and the Imperial Palace as requested. Since the guests wanted Japanese food for lunch, we went to a restaurant and they enjoyed a set of soba and tempura rice bowl. We were able to sit in the very back seats of the Yurikamome line, so we could enjoy the view from the window even more. The guests were very friendly and had a background in law enforcement, and I was able to hear some fascinating stories about interesting cases. As souvenirs, the guests were satisfied to buy accessories at a stone shop, Japanese tea, decorative envelopes for holding omamori charms at a specialty store, and sweet bean paste at a supermarket. One of the guests eats one meal a day but enjoys beer, and in addition to lunch had a beer at a liquor shop in Yanaka. Since eight hours felt long, the guests asked to finish earlier, so I shortened the time spent at each place and we ended ahead of schedule.

Our wonderful guide, Takako, took us on a tour of Tokyo. She helped us create a plan based on our interests and was flexible when we needed to change the itinerary a bit due to extreme heat. She was friendly, informative, and helpful. We enjoyed learning about Japanese culture and history from Takako, and we saw amazing temples and ate delicious sushi. I highly recommend this tour and Takako as a guide!

We had an amazing day with Takako. Takako got in contact prior to our tour to create the perfect itinerary. She collected us from our hotel and helped us get our travel cards and showed us how to use the public transport. Takako altered our tour and took us to Harajuku Takeshite street, which our teenagers really enjoyed. Takako was really informative and friendly and made the day really enjoyable. We would have no hesitation in booking her again. Takako showed us more in 6 hours than we would have seen in a week if left to our own devices. Thanks Takako and we will watch The Transporter!
