What Is a Private Tokyo Sightseeing and Shopping Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
I guided a group visiting from North America. A travel agency was involved as an intermediary throughout, and shortly before the tour I was given only a phone number. Despite my requests, I never received an email address, and when I tried messaging and calling, I could not get through. It later turned out the number was incorrect. I was relieved when we were able to meet safely at the Hotel. The guests were friendly and lovely people. At Hamarikyu Gardens, the plum blossoms were just beginning to bloom and looked beautiful. The guests enjoyed shopping, purchasing tableware in Tsukiji, woodblock prints in Asakusa, and glassware at Kappabashi. It took a while to decide on lunch, but we ended up at a monjayaki restaurant, where they enjoyed yakisoba and okonomiyaki. They asked me many questions, including about politics. The final planned stops, Takeshita Street and the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, ended up being seen from the car due to time constraints, but since the tour proceeded according to the guests' wishes, they appeared very satisfied.

Our wonderful guide, Takako, took us on a tour of Tokyo. She helped us create a plan based on our interests and was flexible when we needed to change the itinerary a bit due to extreme heat. She was friendly, informative, and helpful. We enjoyed learning about Japanese culture and history from Takako, and we saw amazing temples and ate delicious sushi. I highly recommend this tour and Takako as a guide!

We had an amazing day with Takako. Takako got in contact prior to our tour to create the perfect itinerary. She collected us from our hotel and helped us get our travel cards and showed us how to use the public transport. Takako altered our tour and took us to Harajuku Takeshite street, which our teenagers really enjoyed. Takako was really informative and friendly and made the day really enjoyable. We would have no hesitation in booking her again. Takako showed us more in 6 hours than we would have seen in a week if left to our own devices. Thanks Takako and we will watch The Transporter!
