This private tour of Tokyo began at 9:30, when the guide met the guests at Shibuya, and finished at 13:40. The day ran to 4 hours and 10 minutes from start to finish.
From there the group visited Meiji Shrine at 10:00, Harajuku at 11:00, Asakusa, Senso-ji Temple at 12:30 and Kappabashi at 13:20.
What's a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Asakusa, and Kappabashi
The guests were a group visiting from North America. They mentioned that this was their final stop in Tokyo, after enjoying skiing in Osaka, Kyoto, and Hokkaido. Although there was a little confusion meeting up at Shibuya Station, we managed to find each other and walked from Shibuya through Yoyogi Park to Meiji Shrine. Along the way I explained aspects of Japanese culture, ancient capitals, and the differences between shrines and temples, and within the shrine grounds I explained how Shinto has influenced Japanese culture as well as the manner of purification. Since some of the guests were interested in fashion, we did some window shopping while walking along Harajuku Street, and then continued on to Asakusa and Senso-ji Temple. As I had already explained the differences between temples and shrines, the guests said they understood it well.
Since the guests wanted to buy a kitchen knife as a souvenir, our last stop was the Kappabashi shopping street, where we concluded the tour.

Our guide Atsushi took great care to acclimate us with navigating through busy train stations efficiently with a group of eight family members. Atsushi-san was an incredibly well-researched and friendly tour guide. His knowledge allowed us to explore and get to the historical significance of the various locations we visited. His explanations were simple but comprehensive. The six hours flew by and included some off-the-beaten opportunities including coffee at a very austere but memorable location near the fish market. I would highly recommend him as well as this tour for anyone with limited time in Tokyo wanting see as much as possible

Our guide, Atsushi, was great! He met us at our hotel in Hakone and took us clockwise to tour all the sites. He was informative and taught us a lot. Our group was two adults and a 14 year old. We saw Mt Fuji from the rope way, but unfortunately the pirate ship was canceled because of high wind. We would absolutely use Atsushi again for this tour, or any other tour he provides.
