- 8:00 Hotel Meet(@Yuzuya Ryokan）
- 8:00-8:40 Travel (Keihan Electric Railway; Gion-Shijo → Fushimi-Inari)
- 8:40-9:30 Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine visit
- 9:30-10:05 Travel (Keihan Electric Railway; Fushimi-Inari → Kiyomizu-Gojo)
- 10:05-11:25 Kiyomizu-dera Temple visit (including Sannenzaka, Ninenzaka, Yasaka Pagoda, Koshin-do)
- 11:30-12:00 Gion stroll (Hanamikoji, Shirakawa Gion)
- 12:10-13:00 Lunch (@Chibo/Gion branch)
- 13:00-13:20 Travel (City Bus; Gion → Higashiyama-Nanajo)
- 13:20-14:00 Sanjusangen-do Temple visit
- 14:00 Tour ends. After the tour, we saw off the guests to their nearest bus stop and said goodbye.

The guests were visitors from North America. Although they had married a few years ago, they had been unable to travel afterward due to COVID, so they came to Japan on this trip. The morning brought genuine winter cold, but temperatures rose during the day, making it ideal weather for the tour. I took them to Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, and Sanjusangendo. The guests said that Sanjusangendo and Kiyomizu-dera were their favorites. Before arriving in Japan, they had also inquired about a tea ceremony experience, so I introduced a place near their hotel where they could experience it. During the tour, they showed me photos of the actual experience, and they said they were very glad to have been able to try the tea ceremony.

Our Kyoto guided tour (Aioi Michiharu) was a great way to see some of the city’s most famous sights. The itinerary was well organized, starting with a convenient hotel pickup before visiting Fushimi Inari Taisha. Walking through the thousands of red torii gates was a memorable experience, and our guide shared interesting background about the shrine that added helpful context.
We then explored the Kiyomizu area, including Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Yasaka Pagoda, and Yasaka Koshindo Temple. The route offered a nice mix of historic landmarks, traditional streets, and scenic viewpoints. There was enough time at each stop to take photos and enjoy the surroundings without feeling rushed.
What really made this tour special was our guide’s knowledge, friendliness, and enthusiasm. He provided interesting cultural insights, recommended local foods and hidden photo spots, and made sure everyone in the group was comfortable throughout the day.

Michi our guide was excellent! Great communication before the tour and laid out an entire day for us. Was very accommodating and understood when the heat got to us and needed to take a break. He was very knowledgeable and gave us great pieces of information about the beautiful city of Kyoto. Would highly recommend the tour and Michi!!

Michi was an excellent tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about the history of all the sites we visited, was able to answer all of core questions, and knew where to find cold water when we were all thirsty! We really enjoyed our whole 4 hour tour.
