Tour Itinerary

  • 9:00 Meet at Hotel. Walk to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.
  • 9:30-10:45 Tokyo Metropolitan Government Observatory. Poor view this day due to yellow sand (Asian dust)
  • 11:30-13:20 Stroll around Tsukiji Outer Market
  • 13:30-14:30 Stroll around Ginza, Ginza 1-chome to Sakuradamon
  • 14:45-15:00 Imperial Palace Nijubashi Bridge
  • 15:10-15:40 Hibiya to Shinjuku. Accompany to the hotel and finish

Title: What Is a Private Walking Tour of Central Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

Body: The guests were from Europe, now residing in Oceania. We met in the lobby of a hotel, and they expressed their hopes for guiding in French.

Since they had arranged to meet a friend in West Shinjuku that evening, we confirmed the location while walking to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.

Beneath the large railway overpass, I explained the photo panels on the wall showing Shinjuku as it looked 50 years ago.

On this day, yellow dust from the continent had reached the Kanto region, so the sky was hazy and yellowish, and the views were not ideal.

At Tsukiji Market, the guests enjoyed comparing it with markets they were familiar with.

After strolling through Ginza, we went from Sakuradamon to the Nijubashi Bridge at the Imperial Palace.

The tour offered a striking contrast of central Tokyo scenery: the high-rise district of West Shinjuku, the bustle of the Tsukiji outer market, glamorous Ginza, and the history-steeped Imperial Palace.

Although it was a short time, I was able to guide them through Tokyo with a well-paced variety of experiences.
