Tour Itinerary in Detail
This private tour of Hokkaido began at 9:00, when the guide met the guests at @ Hotel, and finished at 17:00. The day ran to 8 hours from start to finish. It included lunch @ Kakizaki at 12:20.
From there the group visited Otaru Sankaku Market at 9:55, Otaru Canal at 10:30, Yoichi Nikka Whisky Distillery at 11:15, Tanaka Sake Brewery Kikkogura at 14:15 and Sakaimachi Street at 14:45.
What Is a Private Day Tour to Otaru and Yoichi from Sapporo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting from North America. In the early hours it rained with strong winds, so the weather was a concern, but by the time we reached Yoichi the sun came out and the wind calmed down, allowing us to proceed with the tour smoothly afterward. For lunch we went to a popular restaurant in Yoichi called Kakizaki, and the guests seemed very satisfied with the fresh seafood dishes. The weather in Tokyo the previous day had apparently been quite poor, so they seemed to really enjoy the mild weather of Otaru and Yoichi on this day. The drive back to Sapporo was also smooth, and although we had a dinner reservation at 6:00, we were able to arrive at the Hotel with plenty of time to spare.

Super Sapporo in April with Tom.
Tom was kind enough to meet at our hotel to start the tour and then sat with us to make sure we saw the best of Sapporo that was available to us on the day. We even managed some Cherry Blossom which was an unexpected bonus.
Tom ensured we got to Sapporos highest view away from any crowds and navigated our route brilliantly. He left us at the Sapporo Brewery for us to drink and eat in our own time. We wish Tom sincere thanks for a great day in Sapporo.

We had a wonderful city tour with Tom in Sapporo! He was very knowledgeable about Hokkaido’s history and culture and had a lot of great stories to share. He was extremely friendly and patient as well. Highly recommend booking a tour with Tom if you want to see Sapporo’s highlights in a day! He also does tours further out of Sapporo city center.
