What Is a Private Day Trip from Kyoto to Nara Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
Today I guided the guests visiting from Europe. They had already visited Tokyo and Hakone, and today they were exploring Nara, with plans to spend four days in Kyoto starting this morning and also to visit Okinawa. The guests had not known about the deer in Nara, so they were very surprised and thoroughly enjoyed seeing them. Compared to the crowds in Kyoto, it was not so busy, and we were able to explore at a relaxed pace while I explained things such as the difference between shrines and temples. The guests also enjoyed the beautiful garden at Isuien, and since there was time to spare, I suggested visiting Fushimi Inari Taisha on the way back, which they gladly accepted, so we stopped by Fushimi Inari Taisha. It was not too crowded, and they were able to enjoy the Senbon Torii at a leisurely pace.

We spent half a day with Kaeko Tanigawa taking us to Daitoku-ji and Kinkaku-ji temples and Nijo castle in Kyoto. She is very nice, customer-oriented and knowledgeable about Japanese culture and history.

Kaeko Tanigawa was fantastic at helping us create a tour that worked for our family with two young children. It was a very hot day, but the air conditioned van was perfect. We loved making ramen together, feeding monkeys, and seeing a few top sites of Kyoto.

Kaeko was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and my husband and I had the best time with her during our honeymoon in Kyoto in April! She reached out well before our trip to get to know our interests and carefully planned an itinerary that was perfectly tailored to us—even helping us choose the perfect lunch spot.
