What Is a Private Day Tour of Hakone Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
Today's guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. In light rain, we first visited the Hakone Open-Air Museum. The guests were surprised, saying that although there are many art museums back home, this was their first time visiting one dedicated entirely to outdoor exhibits. After I explained the main sculptures, the guests freely explored the Picasso Pavilion and enjoyed it. Next, we took the ropeway from Sounzan and explored Owakudani, where they enjoyed eating black eggs and were delighted at the idea that their lifespan would be extended by seven years. After that, we boarded the pirate ship and headed to Moto-Hakone. When we tried to have lunch, even though it was past 2:00, an awkward time, the restaurants were full and we faced overtourism firsthand. Since I had told them in advance that it might be crowded, there were no complaints, and we had a light lunch at a bakery, visited Hakone Shrine, and then parted ways.

Yuji was an amazing guide. He was able to add so much information about all the sites we chose to see. He was very kind and when we were tired he suggested a stop for coffee. It revived us and we kept going.
I would highly recommend Yuji to any one visiting Tokyo.
