What Is a Private Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Nijo Castle, Sanjusangendo, and Fushimi Inari
The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from North America. They had already visited shrines and temples in Tokyo, Hakone, and Hiroshima before arriving in Kyoto. Although they had seen shrines and temples before, it was their first time entering the interiors of Japanese historical buildings such as the Ninomaru Palace at Nijo Castle and Sanjusangendo, and they observed the wall paintings and Buddhist statues with great interest. They had many questions, especially about the history of the Tokugawa family and its relationship with the Imperial family. At Fushimi Inari, they were drawn to the vermilion Senbon Torii, and we discussed Japanese views on Shinto and religion. They also purchased souvenirs and keepsakes and enjoyed their time.

We had a wonderful tour around Osaka. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting information about the places we visited. He was also very friendly and approachable, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
