The guests came from North America and had attended an international conference in Yokohama before continuing on to Kyoto. Both walked at a relaxed pace, but we were able to complete the itinerary largely as planned. I had asked in advance about their preferences, but since there were no particular places they wanted to visit, I guided them to the classic, popular highlights of Kyoto. Although school excursion groups have been increasing, none of the sites were especially crowded today. I had been a little worried because rain was forecast for the afternoon, but we were fortunate that it barely rained at all. It is my job either way, but today was a truly pleasant day of guiding.
