- 12:30〜13:30 Lunch at Gontaro Kinkaku-ji Branch
- 13:40〜15:00 Kinkaku-ji Temple, shopping at souvenir shops
- 16:05 Disband at Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine
What's a Private Day Tour of Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Arashiyama, Kinkaku-ji, and Fushimi Inari
The guests today were a group visiting from Oceania. They had become friends through walking and decided to travel together. Their tour covered many destinations over three weeks. The bamboo grove in Arashiyama looked beautifully green after the previous day's rain, and the guests were very pleased. Kinkaku-ji was not too crowded during the summer off-peak season, so we were able to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. There was no wind, and Kinkaku-ji reflected beautifully on the surface of the water, which delighted the guests. While they took their time browsing souvenirs nearby, we ran short on time, and by the time we reached the final destination, Fushimi Inari Taisha, we were about an hour over schedule, so I gave only a brief explanation there and we parted ways. I believe they enjoyed themselves.

We spent half a day with Kaeko Tanigawa taking us to Daitoku-ji and Kinkaku-ji temples and Nijo castle in Kyoto. She is very nice, customer-oriented and knowledgeable about Japanese culture and history.

Kaeko Tanigawa was fantastic at helping us create a tour that worked for our family with two young children. It was a very hot day, but the air conditioned van was perfect. We loved making ramen together, feeding monkeys, and seeing a few top sites of Kyoto.

Kaeko was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and my husband and I had the best time with her during our honeymoon in Kyoto in April! She reached out well before our trip to get to know our interests and carefully planned an itinerary that was perfectly tailored to us—even helping us choose the perfect lunch spot.
