What Is a Full-Day Private Tour of Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, Asakusa, and the Imperial Palace

After departing from the Hotel, I helped all the guests purchase SUICA cards at Shinjuku Station, and then we started the tour. At Meiji Shrine, the guests were very interested in explanations about Shinto and the Meiji Restoration. Since the guests had requested tonkatsu for lunch, I took them to a well-known tonkatsu restaurant in Omotesando. After that, we moved on to Asakusa, where we visited Kaminarimon Gate, Nakamise Street, Senso-ji Temple, and the five-story pagoda. The guests listened with great interest to explanations about the differences between Buddhism and Shinto, and about how Japanese people naturally practice both religions together in daily life without any sense of conflict. At the final destination, the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, the guests attentively listened to explanations about the history of the Imperial family and the isolation policy under the Tokugawa shogunate. As the guests had a reservation at a restaurant in the Otemachi area at 17:00 for dinner, I timed the end of the tour accordingly and took them there exactly at 17:00, where we parted ways.
