What Is a Private Himeji Castle and Koko-en Garden Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

Today's guests were visitors from Oceania. The plan for today's tour was to visit Himeji Castle, Koko-en Garden, and a sake brewery.

However, while the guide was on the train heading to Himeji Station, a message came from the guests asking, "Should we go to Engyo-ji Temple on Mount Shosha, the 'Last Samurai' temple? Can we change the sake brewery to Engyo-ji Temple?"

Since the guests had arrived at Himeji Station earlier than expected, we discussed it, and after the guests understood that Engyo-ji Temple on Mount Shosha is quite far from Himeji Station, we decided to follow the original plan and visit Himeji Castle, Koko-en Garden, and the sake brewery.

We started the tour after this exchange. As it was another hot day, we made our way through Himeji Castle and Koko-en Garden, giving explanations in the shade whenever possible. The next destination was the sake brewery. However, the guests said, "We won't go to the sake brewery. We're hungry, so we'd like to end the tour and have lunch."

The guests had come to Himeji from Osaka today. They said they had stopped by Kobe Harborland on the way, but had not eaten lunch. Since today's tour was originally scheduled to start at 13:00, the guide had assumed it would be a tour starting after lunch.

However, the guests had not eaten lunch and were tired from the heat, so they wanted to end the tour and have lunch. For this reason, I guided the guests to a Sanuki udon restaurant on Otemae Street and ended the tour. The guests were pleased.
