Hello, my name is Akiko Kataoka. I was born and raised in Miyagi Prefecture. Miyagi is blessed with natural environment and beautiful historical places.
I worked as an elementary school teacher for many years. After retiring, I became a nationally certified tour guide. I have a deep interest in history and a passion for traditional Japanese culture. I also love traveling and have visited many places both in Japan and abroad. Meeting people from different backgrounds and interacting with them has always been one of my greatest pleasures. In my free time, I enjoy practicing English, exercising at the gym, taking tea ceremony and calligraphy lessons. As a guide, I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience, especially in sharing the charm of my local area, including Sendai and Matsushima. I look forward to meeting you all.
