Tour Itinerary in Detail
Meeting at @Keio Plaza at 10:30, the group explored Tokyo until the tour ended at 16:50. The day ran to 6 hours and 20 minutes from start to finish. It included lunch (Ramen battleground in KITTE basement) at 13:30.
The itinerary covered Meiji Shrine/Inner Garden at 11:00, Nijubashi Bridge at 13:00 and Asakusa at 14:45.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Shinjuku to Harajuku by train (150JPY); Meiji-jingumae to Nijubashimae by subway (210JPY); Tokyo to Kanda by train (150JPY); Kanda to Asakusa by subway (180JPY); Asakusa to Kanda by subway (180JPY); Kanda to Shinjuku by train (180JPY). Across 6 sections the fare came to 1,050JPY per person.
What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and Asakusa
The guests were visitors from North America. Nothing was mentioned by the guests themselves, but based on my first impression I guided them with extra care and attention throughout the day.
This was the first day of their sightseeing, and since they told me they planned to stay in Tokyo for a while, we decided to visit Tokyo's main attractions while also practicing how to use public transportation so they could get around on their own afterward. I guided them to Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace (Nijubashi Bridge), and Asakusa.
At Meiji Shrine, the irises were coming into their best season, so we toured the Meiji Shrine Inner Garden together. Since there was a long line at the Kiyomasa Well, I showed them a photo I had taken during a preliminary visit the day before and we skipped it.
On the way to Nijubashi Bridge, one of the guests began to feel unwell with heart palpitations, so we stopped on the spot and waited for things to calm down. I suggested moving somewhere to sit, but they said it was a preexisting condition and that it was better to stay still and remain calm until it passed, so we stayed there for about ten minutes. After settling down a little, we rested on a park bench in the plaza in front of Nijubashi Bridge. I suggested returning to the hotel as it was, but the guests said they were fine, so we continued the tour. Rather than going all the way up to Nijubashi Bridge, we went to a point where it was visible and then turned back.
We had lunch at Tokyo Station and rested before heading to Asakusa. I decided to avoid the crowded Nakamise shopping street and to guide them with frequent breaks along the way. Thanks to this, there were no more palpitations after that, though we ran a little over on time. Even so, I was relieved above all that I was able to return the guests safely to their hotel.
They told me they would be traveling to Hakone from the next day, so on the way back I took them to the Odakyu Line ticket gates at Shinjuku Station to confirm the location, and we also checked at the information center how to use the tickets they had.
The guests were very pleasant and seemed accustomed to international travel, and they thanked me, saying they could never have covered this much in a single day on their own.

Tokyo Walking Tour
We did a six-hour walking tour of Tokyo with Yoko and she was an exceptional guide. We saw multiple shrines (Meiji Shrine is a must see), the Imperial Palace, the “crossing” (there is a similar intersection in the Ginza shopping district which was also cool), the Tokyo Station, and the outer market where we ordered some fatty toro nigiri which was an etherial experience. Can’t say enough good things about Yoko. She taught ys a ton about the history of Japan and had a great sense of humor. A+

Fantastic day exploring Tokyo
This was our first time visiting Tokyo and spending a day with Yoko as our guide was perhaps the best decision we could have made. Even before we arrived we traded messages with Yoko about what we might like to do. She offered valuable tips which made not only our time in Tokyo more efficient but while in Japan as a whole. We saw so many amazing things but Yoko also gave us a primer in using the Tokyo subway system and navigating some of the stations. I could go on and list all the things we did but each tour will be different. However I would highly recommend Yoko as a guide. Perhaps serendipitous, but we were stopped on the street the day after we toured with Yoko by a couple who had a list of things to do but was unsure how to go about doing the things on their list and where those things were located. I was thankful we chose the best guide so we didn’t have that problem.
