  • 13:30: Disband @ hotel

The guests were a group visiting from North America. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) is one of Japan's largest networks of government-licensed, English-speaking private tour guides, serving all 47 prefectures. I met the group on time at their hotel and we traveled by taxi to the destinations we had discussed in advance: Nijo Castle, Kinkaku-ji, and Ginkaku-ji. Because the available time was limited, I had to keep the detailed historical and cultural explanations of Nijo Castle, Kinkaku-ji, and Ginkaku-ji fairly brief. Fortunately, since all the transfers were made by taxi, the movement between sites was smooth, and we were able to visit all the planned sightseeing spots within the allotted time.

After a rather long teaching experience at Japanese college, I converted my career about 6 years ago into working as a tour guide for the tourists visiting Japan.
As my career overseas, I’ve been in the UN and the Japanese Embassy, all in the USA, totaling more than 6 years.
And then I had made a big change in my career from a diplomat to an academic researcher. For that career to achieve, I studied abroad and won a doctorate degree in linguistics from Indiana University and landed a teaching position at college in Japan.
