Over the course of the day the route took in Travel to the Great Buddha, visit Hasedera Temple at 15:00 and Travel to Kamakura Station at 16:30.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Kamakura Station to Great Buddha Front by bus (210JPY); Hase to Kamakura Station by train (200JPY); Nihon-odori to Kamakura Station by train (580JPY). Across 3 sections the fare came to 990JPY per person.
Can You Do a Private Day Trip to Kamakura? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting from North America. They had been very much looking forward to seeing the Great Buddha of Kamakura. According to the guests, there are many similarities in the ways of worship and in the making of Buddhist statues, so they took photographs and bought souvenirs at the shop inside the Great Buddha. This time, all of the group used Suica cards, so getting around was smooth. Since the guests placed great importance on taking family photographs, I did my best to help, even though I am not very skilled at it. They were impressed that the air in Kamakura was so clean, unlike in Tokyo.

Our guide, Kappa-san, modified the typical Hakone tour to accommodate our interests, and is very helpful and knowledgeable. Since the day was very hot (95°F / 35°C) we favored activities that were more shaded or cool, including a walk on a cedar-lined section of the old Tokaido path.

Kappa, our guide met us at the train station and took us all over Kamakura. We saw shrines, the big Buddha, gardens, and the Oceanside! Kappa shared a lot of history about Kamakura, and it was nice to have this background when we were exploring these incredible sites! Highly recommend!

My wife and I were treated to a wonderful walking tour of Tokyo with Kappa. Kappa was very accommodating in designing a tour specifically tailored to our interests.
