What's a Private Himeji Castle and Sake Brewery Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

Today's guests were a group of first-time visitors to Japan from North America. After meeting at Himeji Station, I explained the overview and historical background of Himeji Castle at Castle View, and then we headed to the castle. The plan for the day was to visit Himeji Castle, Koko-en Garden, and Nadagiku Sake Brewery. I knew that visiting the West Bailey's Hyakken Corridor would cause the tour to run over time, but since the guests wished to see it, we walked through all the major areas of Himeji Castle, including the West Bailey's Hyakken Corridor and the Main Keep.

After Himeji Castle, we had almond toast at a teahouse near Koko-en Garden, and everyone was delighted with how delicious it was. After Koko-en Garden, we went to Nadagiku Sake Brewery as planned, and after I explained the sake brewing process, the guests enjoyed a paid tasting. The paid tasting offers a "Super Premium Course" and a "Premium Course," and the guests enjoyed both. Then, since they wished to conclude the tour at Nadagiku Sake Brewery, we ended the tour here. When I asked the guests for their impressions of the tour, they said it was "Super Premium." It turned out to be quite a long tour, but I was glad they enjoyed it.
