Tour Itinerary in Detail
This private tour of Tokyo began at 10:00, when the guide met the guests at Okura Tokyo, and finished at 16:15. The day ran to 6 hours and 15 minutes from start to finish. It included lunch @ Irori-an Kiraku Soba, Ueno at 12:15.

What Does a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Cover? A Licensed Guide's Report on Asakusa, Ueno, Shibuya, and Shinjuku
The weather was neither too hot nor too cold, and contrary to the forecast, not a single drop of rain fell, so the tour proceeded smoothly. The guests had a 48-hour subway pass, so using public transportation was easy. In Asakusa, I guided them through the standard course and shared a variety of historical stories. No lunch had been planned, but since they wanted to eat something, I took them to a soba restaurant at Ueno Station. As they were interested in Tokugawa Ieyasu, I then guided them (although it was not on the itinerary) to Ueno Toshogu Shrine. From Ueno Park, I took them to the Shibuya Scramble Crossing and Meiji Shrine. We talked about various topics such as the relationship between Japan and Britain since the Meiji era, and differences in customs and culture. Takeshita Street was crowded as usual. They were interested in animal cafes. According to the plan we were to visit Shinjuku Gyoen, but we skipped it due to time constraints, and I guided them to the Godzilla Head in Kabukicho and the surrounding area, then parted ways at Isetan as planned.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter of Japan and an expert in Japanese history and culture, and also in nursing and health. I usually work as a Public Health Nurse (PHN) at a Public Health Center in Tokyo, and I hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Additionally, I have a Ph.D. in medical science.
Born in 1957 and raised in Tokyo, I have worked for 33 years mainly in the research and development area for some pharmaceutical companies. Then, I changed my career to nursing and entered a university to obtain a PHN and RN license. I took the Licensed Guide for preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and volunteered in the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2021.

Koba was so nice to my family and I. He was patient and helped carry a large toy my daughter won. I wished we had another day. Having a guide saved us hours of navigating the subway and metro.
