- 9:22-9:27 Kyoto→Inari 150 yen JR
- 9:30-10:10 Fushimi Inari Taisha sightseeing
- 10:20-10:59 Inari→Sagaarashiyama JR 240 yen
- 11:20-12:00 Lunch @ Gyatei
- 12:10-13:20 Arashiyama sightseeing (Tenryuji Temple, Bamboo Grove Path, Kimono Forest, etc.)
- 13:45-14:01 Arashiyama→Kyoto Kawaramachi Hankyu 240 yen
- 14:10-14:50 Stroll around Nishiki Market & Teramachi Shopping Street
- 15:10 Disband @ Toki no Bi
Title: What Can You See on a Private Day Tour of Kyoto? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were visitors from North America. Since they were coming from Tokyo by Shinkansen, we arranged to meet at the ticket gate of Kyoto Station. [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led a private tour of Kyoto, taking the guests to Fushimi Inari Taisha and Arashiyama. At Fushimi Inari, I explained the meaning of the torii gates, the different types of shrines, and how shrines differ from temples. We then moved on to Arashiyama, where we had lunch at a restaurant. The guests enjoyed their meal while comparing it with the English menu. We entered Tenryuji Temple through the bamboo grove, where they enjoyed the seasonal flowers and the beautiful garden. After crossing the Togetsukyo Bridge and passing through Hankyu Arashiyama, we finished by walking through Nishiki Market, ending the tour at a bar the guests had been recommended by a friend.

Andy(Atsushi) was great and communicated with us beforehand about our itinerary. He was flexible with changes we requested. Andy was very informative during the tour. He also was willing to take our family’s pictures. We were able to stop and check out shops as we pleased along the way. He also accommodated lunch requests(as our daughter has food allergies).
One thing I wish we realized was that there is quite a bit of walking. We were fine but for people who are perhaps older or with young children you may want to consider taking a cab between different sites.

Andy Murao was an amazing and wonderful tour guide. He reached out to us with some ideas for our private tour. He worked with us as we made the tour perfectly suited to our needs. He met us on time. He navigated the crowds and the sites perfectly. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. He even put together a nice photo collection of photos he emailed us after. Highly recommend.
