Welcome to Japan. I’m Makiko Inoue, your tour guide. I grew up in Matsue, a quiet castle town nicknamed “the capital of water,” as it is surrounded by lakes and canals, and faces the Japan Sea. I worked as an English daily newspaper reporter in bustling Tokyo for more than 20 years. I like traveling (of course!), learning about the history and culture of Japan and the world, playing the piano and singing in a chorus, and meeting people.
