What's a Private Half-Day Arashiyama Tour in Kyoto Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests visited Japan from North America. They had originally booked a 6-hour tour, but it was changed to 4 hours. The main reason was that they wanted to experience a tea ceremony in the morning, and they seem to have attended a session at a cultural experience class earlier that day. They also appear to have had other plans in the evening and requested to return to their Hotel by 4:30 pm, so the tour had to end after a little over three hours. The main request for the tour was to visit the Monkey Park. Since the guests wanted to see the garden at Tenryu-ji Temple, we first entered Tenryu-ji before heading to the bamboo grove. We walked from Arashiyama Park to the Togetsukyo Bridge, and then made our way to the Monkey Park. The uphill climb at the Monkey Park seemed demanding for the guests, but they walked all the way up steadily. They took many photos of the monkeys. To return to the Hotel, they used a taxi, just as they had on the way there. The photos were taken at Tenryu-ji Temple. Arashiyama seemed relatively uncrowded today.
