Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report

This was a case where it was difficult to get in touch in advance, but meeting up on the day of the tour went smoothly. Incidentally, the hotel where the guests were staying had changed its area name accordingly.

I found out on the day that the guests were interested in the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, so I decided to guide them there first. Since we arrived before 9:00, we took a short stroll around Wadakura Fountain Park and the Tatsumi Yagura watchtower before entering the gardens. At Tokyo Tower, the guests wished to take the Top Deck tour, so I waited on the Main Deck during that time. We also had a light meal, so we spent a fairly long time here. By the time we finished lunch in Akihabara, it was almost the end of the scheduled time, but since the guests wished to stroll through Ueno Park afterward, I took them to Ueno, explained how to get back to the hotel, and then we parted ways.

Hi. My name is Masafumi Miyazaki. Please call me “Sam”. I am a government-licensed guide.
I was born in Tokyo and was raised in the suburbs of Tokyo called Tama area. When I was in university, I majored in western dramas, so I am good at playing like an actor.
I like reading, listening to the music, and walking. I belong to several walking clubs, and sometimes I guide the members around Tokyo.
One of my strengths as a guide is that I know well about kombu, Japanese kelps. In December every year, I work at a traditional kombu shop in Tsukiji Fish Market. At that shop, I learned a lot of things related to kombu or other ingredients for washoku. I can explain the different characteristics of them to you.
Also, I am familiar with Japanese flowers and plants. If you stroll around a Japanese garden with me, I am sure you will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers and unique plants in every season.
