Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were energetic and walked at a quick pace. At their request, we visited Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Sanjusangen-do Temple, Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, and Nijo Castle. They had experienced a tea ceremony in Tokyo and seemed to have a strong interest in traditional Japanese culture. Because we visited Kiyomizu-dera Temple early in the morning, the souvenir shops along the approach had not yet opened, but I believe the guests were able to enjoy viewing the temple grounds at a relaxed pace. We walked from Kiyomizu-dera Temple to Sanjusangen-do Temple. After the tour, the guests planned to enjoy some shopping, so we parted ways following the visit to Nijo Castle.

I’m Yuri Takeda, a goverment lisenced English tour guide. I’ve been working as a tour guide for about two years. I was born and raised in Osaka. I’ve been in Nara for about 40 years. I can guide you Kyoto, Osaka and Nara. I like visiting historical sites, eating and cooking. I also like meeting people from different backgrounds. In Japanese, we have a wonderful phrase “Ichigo Ichie”. It means we have to treasure every encounter is a once in a lifetime opportunity. This word came from the spirit of tea ceremony. I’d like to help you discover, enjoy, experience and feel Japanese culture with the heart of Japanese hospitarity, “omotenashi”.
