Can You Take a Private Tour of Tokyo as a First-Time Visitor to Japan? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visitors from North America, visiting Japan for the first time, staying in Tokyo before continuing on to Kyoto, and planning to visit Osaka, Hiroshima, and Hakone before returning home. Normally I confirm the day's itinerary with the guests in the hotel lobby and then start the tour right away, but this time the guests asked me to answer their questions about Japan, so at the hotel café I answered a wide range of questions covering Japan's health insurance system, progressive taxation, divorce rates, and attitudes toward LGBTQ issues. The guests were also interested in Japan's concept of eminent domain, or land expropriation. Since I had previously studied eminent domain, I was somehow able to explain it. It really shows that continuous learning is always necessary.
