What Is a Private Himeji Castle and Sake Brewery Tour Like in Cherry Blossom Season? A Licensed Guide's Report
I had let the guests know that the cherry blossom season draws large crowds, so this morning they contacted me to say they would arrive at the station a little earlier than the planned 9:00 to avoid the congestion. As a result, we were able to climb up to the castle keep before the entry restrictions came into effect. The cherry blossoms had also begun to bloom, so the guests took many photographs. Since they wished to have sushi for lunch, I took them to a popular sushi restaurant nearby. Many flowers were also in bloom at Koko-en Garden, so I believe they enjoyed it very much. After that, we returned to the station and headed to the Nadagiku Sake Brewery. The guests toured it with great interest.

Our guide Chiyuki was the best part of the trip. Super earnest, so generous with her knowledge of the history and culture. The tour had a lot to cover, from the sake making area to the Kobe Herb Garden Ropeway on the opposite side of the city, all in one afternoon. Miles to cover but never once did we feel rushed. We had lovely conversations along the way and tons of pictures to take home. Last but not least, when we requested for her recommendations of Kobe beef places, she pointed us to a top notch Kobe Beef Teppanyaki option – while prudently ensuring it was a value for money experience.
