Tour Itinerary in Detail
The tour started at 8:30 at Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku and ended at 15:10. The day ran to 6 hours and 40 minutes from start to finish. It included lunch @ Mendokoro Ichiryu Asakusa Main Store at 12:40.
Over the course of the day the route took in Tsukiji at 9:10, Imperial Palace East Gardens at 10:30, Asakusa (Skytree photo) at 12:05 and Meiji Shrine at 14:00.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: Shinjuku to Tsukijishijo-mae by train (272JPY); Tsukiji to Takebashi by train (700JPY); Otemachi to Asakusa by train (0JPY); Asakusa to Meiji-jingumae by train (0JPY). Across 4 sections the fare came to 972JPY per person.
The weather was fairly good. One of the guests mentioned suffering from severe jet lag, showing signs of fatigue on the train, and left the tour after having a meal in Asakusa. The rest of the group continued to enjoy the tour up to Takeshita Street in Harajuku. First, I helped them purchase PASMO cards at Shinjuku Station. At Tsukiji Market, they were delighted to see the fresh seafood and enjoyed some street food. At the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, the cherry blossoms were in fairly full bloom, and they took many photos. In Asakusa, after showing them around, they said they were extremely hungry, so I guided them to a ramen restaurant. After the meal, I saw one of the guests off in a taxi. The rest of the group visited Meiji Shrine, where I explained various things, including matters related to religion. They appreciated the simple and understated atmosphere of Meiji Shrine. I guided them to the entrance of Takeshita Street, where the tour ended as we ran out of time.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter of Japan and an expert in Japanese history and culture, and also in nursing and health. I usually work as a Public Health Nurse (PHN) at a Public Health Center in Tokyo, and I hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Additionally, I have a Ph.D. in medical science.
Born in 1957 and raised in Tokyo, I have worked for 33 years mainly in the research and development area for some pharmaceutical companies. Then, I changed my career to nursing and entered a university to obtain a PHN and RN license. I took the Licensed Guide for preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and volunteered in the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2021.
