Tour Report: What Is a 4-Hour Private Miyajima Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

Tour Report Date: 2025/03 Places visited: Itsukushima Shrine, Daisho-in Temple Guest: The guests Weather: Sunny Experiences: Itsukushima Shrine – worship etiquette : Daisho-in Temple – Kaidan-meguri (walk through the dark passage) : Maple Road – stroll

Details: I conducted a 4-hour Miyajima tour for guests visiting from North America. At the beginning of the tour, to build rapport with the guests, I shared some of my own experiences from living in North America. Specifically, I talked about studying English at a night adult school, learning Spanish greetings through exchanges with immigrant communities, shopping at supermarkets late at night, and even an episode of being followed by a helicopter on the highway, all of which helped create a relaxed atmosphere.

・As one of the guests had some concern about walking, I chose routes with less physical strain by using elevators and escalators when moving around. ・One of the guests had a strong interest in psychology and shared deep knowledge about Buddhism during the tour, making it a highly enriching experience.

Through conversation with the guests, we exchanged culture and knowledge with each other, and I was able to conduct a fulfilling tour. In particular, choosing routes that took mobility into consideration worked well, and I felt the guests were able to participate comfortably. I will continue to strive for flexible responses tailored to each guest's situation.

Originally, I’m a cycling guide doing cycling tours all over Japan.
But, already done Hiroshima & Miyajima tour more than 400 times.
I traveled many countries in my younger days. I traveled Europe, US, China, India, US, Mexico, Peru Australia, NZ, and so on.
I decided to use this experience to become a guide.
I’m afraid but no tipping required, because cycling guides are not allowed to have tipping in my association. And you do not need to pay for my lunch, because my lunch is prepared by our group.
Please do not hesitate to ask me anything, I’ll change the plan according to your requests.
Thank you for your understanding and please stay connected.
