What Is a Private Guided Tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
Rain had been forecast, but the weather managed to hold. One of the guests asked me to explain the history from the point when the two nations went to war up to the atomic bombing. In Miyajima, the guests had their names engraved on chopsticks as a souvenir. They asked me to help change the time on their return Shinkansen tickets, so I assisted with that. The guests were very interested in cities other than Hiroshima, in everyday life in Japan, and in Japanese history, and they asked many questions. They were a very friendly and lovely group. At the end, one of the guests gave me a hug and told me they had a wonderful time.

Hiroshima is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Atomic Bomb Dome and Itsukushima Shrine. The Atomic Bomb Dome is a poignant reminder of history, standing gracefully within a beautiful park. Walking through the park together, we can reflect on the powerful message of peace it conveys. Itsukushima Shrine, famous for its red torii gate floating in the sea, is located on a picturesque island. It’s a place where you can enjoy a truly relaxing and serene time.

Moving experience with amazing guide Kyoko. Kyoko met us at the cruise terminal and took us to the Peace Museum, Dome, and Peace Park. We then went to Mijama Island and back to cruise port. We were a group of four senior citizens and Kyoko was so kind and caring and made sure we made it back to the port safely. Kyoko was very informative and taught us so much about Japan. We even had a picnic (Hamani) under the cherry blossom trees with Kyoko. We had a very memorable day in Hiroshima which has left lasting impressions on us.
We would highly recommend this tour and our amazing guide Kyoko.
