What's a Private Himeji Castle Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
Today's guests were first-time visitors to Japan from Europe. They had arrived at Kansai Airport the previous day, making Himeji their very first sightseeing destination in Japan. After meeting up, the guests stored their suitcases in a coin locker and had breakfast at a nearby cafe, after which we began the tour.
After explaining an overview of Himeji Castle at the Castle View, we toured Himeji Castle and Koko-en Garden. The cherry blossoms at Himeji Castle had not yet bloomed, but there were already many tourists. The guests were deeply impressed by the grandeur of Himeji Castle. At Koko-en Garden, they also joined a tea ceremony and were very pleased. After Koko-en, we went to the rooftop of Egret Himeji, and after admiring Himeji Castle from a distance, we concluded the tour. The guests seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

Our delightful guide, Norio, was knowledgeable and a master at train negotiation! A highlight of the tour was the Herb Garden and Ropeway visit. The Sake Brewery and Museum was interesting with fabulous explanation from Norio combined with outstanding exhibits and tastings! He then left us to wander at our leisure in Chinatown.

We learnt lots about Himeji castle and it was very interesting. The gardens were beautiful and it was great to see all the Koi fish. Norio made sure to take us to the best places and even took us to a great local sake place we asked for 🙂
