Hello, I’m Takako. I was born and raised in Nara and Kyoto, and I have been working as a national licensed English tour guide in Kanazawa, Shirakawa-go, Takayama, and the Toyama region since 2017.
Before becoming a guide, I spent 15 years working in international business for an innovative video game company in Kyoto. I also lived in Germany and traveled across Europe. These experiences helped me develop a deep interest in the diversity of cultures and ways of thinking.
I am also the mother of a young boy. In addition to guiding, I worked as an English teacher for students ranging from children to adults. I truly enjoyed teaching and sharing knowledge.
For me, guiding is about building a bridge between Japanese culture and each guest’s own cultural background. Because every guest is different, I always strive to customize the experience based on their interests and what they hope to gain from the tour. I can also recommend off-the-beaten-path spots throughout the region for guests seeking more local and unique experiences.
My goal is not simply to provide information, but to create unforgettable moments — moments that give guests goosebumps and remain in their hearts long after the tour is over.

Shirakawa-go was the most beautiful part of our trip and this was made possible with the guidance from Taka san. She was friendly, knowledgeable and very adaptable to our needs.
